Estudio de caso sobre ansiedad y depresión en los trabajadores de una empresa pública de Guayaquil

Abstract

Objectives: This article describes the factors associated with anxiety and depression in the workers of a public company in Guayaquil. The specific objectives of the study were: to determine by initial diagnosis the working conditions of the workers, to identify the manifestations or anxiety and depression and to propose an action plan for the periods of anxiety and depression associated with stress, in order to improve health physical and mental of the workers. Method: The case analysis was carried out using medical record as secondary sources, the research had a qualitative descriptive approach. Results: The following were defined manifestations of depression: decreased attention and concentration, ideas of guilt and of being useless, gloomy vision of the future and loss of self-confidence; with regard to anxiety, manifestations such as: apprehension, muscular tension and vegetative hyperactivity were identified. Among the triggering dimensions of anxiety and depression diseases are the low control of the activities carried out, work overload, repetition of tasks, high competitiveness and low salaries. Conclusion: The factors present that trigger anxiety and depression must be evaluated and recognized from the beginning, in order to treat them comprehensively. Finally, it is proposed to study the subject in greater depth, as well as the support and understanding that must be provided to the affected workers, based on productivity and skills perspectives
