Description: Throughout this study will be the marketing of native potatoes, their history, operation, alliances as well as some problems that arise in this successful business that is delayed in Ecuador but applying experiences and knowledge gained in neighboring countries it will be possible to improve and reach a satisfactory situation. For many years this product has remained unnoticed but with the appearance of new trends it has become a product of high interest in countries such as the United States of America. The potato is one of the 4 most important foods in the world and its contribution to food has been so important that UNESCO has declared 2008 as the "International Year of the Potato". Having analyzed the domestic market of agricultural products in this case the native potatoes of the province of Carchi can be found that it is a product with great potential due to its nutritional properties, diversity of flavors and that has a high demand abroad due to trends such as the gradual change of eating habits after obesity is a significant public health problem that has serious implications for the health and well-being of the American population. The province of Carchi was taken into account for this plan due to the variables that surround it as the ease of cultivation of this product due to the soils and the climate that this area of Ecuador provides since it can have several crops a year and also the volume of production that this province currently has. Traditional potatoes or those on the market with great ease are potatoes that have a high carbohydrate content but a lack of fiber that helps the body to process them, unlike the native potato provides more fiber of vitamins and its Potassium richness favors, the elimination of liquids can help people with obesity caused by fluid retention. This work aims to boost the production, marketing and export of the native potatoes of Ecuador under a brand that is synonymous with quality and welfare for the consumer abroad.
