Description: Currently, the mismanagement of vehicles considered a total loss in Ecuador, has caused waste that is not friendly to the environment. Also, a reality is that many of these vehicles are repaired, which generates insecurity for their occupants. The aforementioned problems can be solved with the implementation of a recycling and fragmentation plant for this type of vehicles, by means of procedures that allow to reuse the parts that have passed an effective quality control, recover a large part of the materials that compose the vehicle, fulfilling with the INEN standards established in Ecuador, and thus give an adequate management to the polluting waste to reduce the environmental impact indicated above. The center of recycling and fragmentation of vehicles will generate income from the commercialization of the serviceable parts of the vehicles, and the sale of the materials considered as scrap. In the design stage of the plant it has been determined that the demand is very broad, since of the surveys made to the executives of the most outstanding insurers in the country they confirm that there are more than 4012 vehicles considered total loss per year; Based on these values, the maximum capacity of the plant was determined and several alternatives were made for its distribution, selecting the most productive and viable alternative. In addition, the reuse of parts is the best alternative to recycling according to several environmental studies, it is shown that 87% is recovered, which concludes that it is a project that helps the environment In the economic study of this project, it shows us that it is highly profitable, since the period of recovery of the investment is 24 months, with a Net Present Positive Value and an Internal Rate of Return of 37% when it begins its functions with its capacity maximum. For the development of the project the INEN norms of Ecuador were taken into account, and it is also recommended that since there is no legal regulation in Ecuador for the cutting of cars, the Argentine auto parts law is taken as a consultation and analysis document.
