Confluencias del acoso laboral, tendencia suicida y depresión en entornos laborales

Abstract

This study examines the confluences between the constructs of workplace bullying, depression, and suicidal tendencies, aiming to deepen the understanding of their combined impact on the mental health and well-being of workers across various organizational settings. Objective: To comprehensively analyze the interrelationships among workplace bullying, depression, and suicidal tendencies in occupational contexts, identifying patterns and mediating factors that contribute to their manifestation and progression. Method: A systematic review was conducted following the PRISMA protocol. The literature search was performed in recognized databases using terms related to "workplace bullying," "suicidal tendencies," and "depression," combined with Boolean operators to maximize the relevance and comprehensiveness of the results. Participants: From an initial pool of 100 potentially relevant articles, 40 were excluded after title screening and 10 due to duplication, leaving 50 eligible studies. Subsequently, 40 were excluded after abstract review and for lacking relevant information or not meeting inclusion criteria, resulting in a final corpus of 10 articles analyzed in depth. Conclusions: The evidence shows that frequent and prolonged workplace bullying negatively impacts mental health, promoting the emergence of depression and suicidal tendencies in work environments. The severity of these effects is mediated by organizational and personal factors that modulate worker vulnerability. Emotional and behavioral patterns reflecting progressive deterioration were identified, underscoring the need for comprehensive interventions and preventive policies within organizations.
