Description: | The present study aims to identify the prevalence of psychosocial risk factors associated with burnout syndrome in nursing professionals; (1) Background: In 2019, the WHO recognized burnout syndrome as a disease, including it in the ICD-11 in January 2022; (2) Methods: Following the PRISMA methodology, an exploratory systematic review was conducted, searching academic databases such as SciElo, Scopus, and PubMed; (3) Results: 20 articles were studied, which met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The analyzed studies come from samples from different regions of the world where they expose the main triggering causes of Burnout Syndrome (SB). The analysis is divided into three groups: the first group of documents focuses on burnout syndrome and its effects in the workplace. The second group addresses burnout syndrome, but also explores other topics such as work stress, anxiety, and depression. Finally, the third group of documents analyzes psychosocial risk factors related to burnout syndrome during the COVID19 pandemic; (4) Conclusions: The findings reveal that the nature of positions, working conditions, and the duration of vacations influence burnout syndrome in nurses. The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated this risk due to the high workload and associated anxiety, highlighting the need to address both work-related and personal aspects to prevent burnout in nurses |
