| Abstract: | Agualongo de Paredes es una comunidad rural indigena, localizada al sur Occidente de la parroquia San Roque, a 4,00 km de la capital Cantonal (Atuntaqui) y a 18 km de la capital Provincial (Ibarra). Esta comunidad tiene un área de 0.44 km2 y una población actual de 674 habitantes. La comunidad de Agualongo de Paredes cuenta con una cobertura de alcantarillado del 84,0%, mientras el otro 14.0 % restante cuentan con pozos sépticos construidos anti tecnicamete y colapsados por haber cumplido su vida útil. Existe un 2.0 % de esta población que sus necesidades básicas lo realizan a cielo abierto. Existe una planta de tratamiento de aguas residuales en mal estado, que consiste en una fosa séptica, cámaras de distribución y un pantano artificial que trataba 1.40 l/s y descarga en la quebrada Tambor Huayco. Al no existir tratamiento adecuado para las aguas residuales, el sistema de alcantarillado de la comunidad Agualongo de Paredes queda incompleto, propiciando condiciones ambientales adversas. Los sistemas de alcantarillado nacen de la necesidad de evacuar de las ciudades las aguas residuales que contengan todo material orgánico o químico y perjudica la salud de los pobladores causando molestias tales como mal aspecto y olores desagradables, a su vez, impiden alcanzar las condiciones plenamente relacionadas con el desarrollo y mejoramiento del nivel de vida. |
| Description: | Agualongo de Paredes is a rural indigenous community, located to the south west of the San Roque parish, 4.00 km from the Cantonal capital (Atuntaqui) and 18 km from the Provincial capital (Ibarra). The community of Agualongo de Paredes has a sewerage coverage of 84.0 %, while the other 12.0 % have septic tanks built anti-technically and collapsed for having reached their useful life. There is 4.0 % of this population that their basic needs are carried out in the open. There is a wastewater treatment plant in poor condition, which consists of a septic tank, distribution chambers and an artificial swamp that treated 1.40 l/s and discharges into the Quebrada Tambor Huayco. In the absence of adequate treatment for wastewater, the sewerage system of the Agualongo de Paredes community remains incomplete, causing adverse environmental conditions. The sewage systems are born from the need to evacuate from the cities the wastewater that contains all organic or chemical material and harms the health of the inhabitants causing discomfort such as bad appearance and unpleasant odors, in turn, prevent reaching the fully related conditions. with the development and improvement of the standard of living.. |
