Description: In recent years the automotive fleet has grown without any restriction, likewise the manufacture of automotive parts has been made with conventional materials, in such a way that their quality has decreased, one of them is the upper cover of the Hyundai Accent timing belt, therefore, this research presents the study of reverse engineering in the additive manufacturing of the Hyundai Accent timing cover, scanning the mechanical element using the 3D scanner "Scanner GO SCAN". 3D" to subsequently reconstruct its geometry using CAD application software in order to improve the construction and manufacturing process of the distribution cover, it should be noted that this research is based on analyzing the mechanical properties of composite materials (fiber carbon +ABS Plus), designing tensile and bending specimens in Inventor, then printing 15 specimens s of traction (ETC) and 15 of flexion (ETF) using 3D printing technology FMD or fused deposition with three types of Infill (triangular, grid and gyroid) at 35% carbon fiber in the upper and lower part and in the central part with a 30% filling, the same ones that were subjected to destructive tests based on the ASTM 3039-14 and ASTM 7264 standards, when comparing these results with the specifications of the original material (polypropylene), it is clearly noted that the graphs of flexion and traction than the ETC03 and ETF03 specimen behave better, withstanding a tensile stress of 26,521 MPA and an elasticity modulus of 1026,584 MPA, when comparing the tensile stress (27 MPA) of the original material , it can be seen that there is no significant variation, to corroborate the result, it was subjected to a FEM analysis of the original material and the ETC03 and ETF03 specimens, using the Altaír HyperWorks software, managing to exceed the desired expectations. s, the same one that could replace in the future the conventional material for the construction of the cover of the distribution of the Hyundai Accent 2001
