Description: The type of research that was carried out is basic at the descriptive level, since the knowledge from the observation was applied with the aim of finding an adequate proposal for a self-maintenance and preventive maintenance guide in the area "Force Room" specifically in the boiler room of a brewery located in the north of Quito-Ecuador. The methodology to follow is; first proceed to the collection of all data in the boiler, based on the ANSI A13.1, ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001 regulations, as well as the laws in force in our country, in order to prepare two safety guides to safeguard the integrity of the system's personnel, environment, and equipment. The parameters for the steady state operation of the equipment are defined, a study is carried out on the possible failures of these equipments and their main components, presenting the problems, causes and possible solutions to these unexpected failures that for different causes may arise before the operation. stable. Self-maintenance and preventive maintenance guides are designed based on the experience of both maintenance personnel and operating personnel. The maintenance guides are broken down into the different areas, presenting the distribution of the different maintenance activities. In turn, the operations to be carried out by both operating and maintenance personnel in each of the activities are described. These self-maintenance and preventive maintenance guides try at all times to ensure the operation of the equipment with the highest efficiency levels and extend the life of the equipment at all times.
