Abstract: OBJECTIVES: To determine the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders in administrative workers of a municipality in the province of Esmeraldas, measure the level of ergonomic risk due to forced postures of the activity and establish the association between the level of ergonomic risk measured and the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders of the study target personnel. METHODOLOGY: A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out on 49 administrative workers using a data display screen of a municipality in a Canton of the Esmeraldas province. The Nordic Kuorinka questionnaire and the ergonomic method REBA were applied for the study of the job. RESULTS: The present study evidences that the TME have been presented in 85.71% in the personnel at some stage of their life and that their design of the job position was not the most suitable for their activity prioritizing the discomforts at cervical, lumbar and dorsal, the same ones that are associated with forced postures because they are specifically at medium risk according to the REBA.
