Description: The purpose of this paper is to describe and show the relationships that exist between academic stress, social anxiety and coping styles of students of a psychology faculty in Quito. The first point that is addressed is that of social anxiety, the aspects that may be related to it and the effects that may occur in the daily life of the person, including in the academic field. The second point addresses academic stress and describes the stressors that may be present in the educational space. As a third point we describe the coping styles that the person can have in the face of stress, emphasizing the avoidant style. The methodological proposal on which the work is based is correlational since it seeks to identify the possible relationships between social anxiety, academic stress and coping styles. The studied population included all the students of the psychology faculty, which would be equivalent to 30 students. The results obtained show no significant relationship between social anxiety and avoidant coping style, as well as between social anxiety and academic stress. The relationship between academic stress and avoidant style is medium.
