Elaboración del sistema de gestión en seguridad salud y ambiente para la estación científica Amazónica-Limoncocha de la Universidad Internacional SEK, basado en las normas ISO 14001:2004 y OHSAS 18001:2007

Abstract

La Universidad Internacional SEK del Ecuador cuenta con la Estación Científica Amazónica Limoncocha (ECAL), ubicada en la Reserva Biológica Limoncocha en el Oriente Ecuatoriano; en dicha Estación se realizan varias actividades académicas y de investigación científica. Actualmente dada la afluencia permanente de estudiantes e investigadores a la Estación Científica, además de nuevas exigencias impuestas por el Ministerio del Ambiente a la operación de la ECAL, surge como alternativa para un manejo organizado, eficaz, seguro y respetuoso del ambiente, el Sistema de Gestión en Seguridad Salud y Ambiente (SGSSA) para la Estación Científica Amazónica Limoncocha, basado en la normas ISO 14001:2004 y OHSAS 18001:2007. Para la elaboración de dicho sistema se realizó un diagnóstico inicial a las instalaciones de la Estación Científica, las condiciones de seguridad que esta brinda y el análisis de los aspectos ambientales que esta genera; para la elaboración de los procedimientos de gestión y operativos se realizó la recopilación de información a través de normas técnicas, leyes y bibliografía especializada en el tema. Finalmente el trabajo expone el funcionamiento del SGSSA, además de su política, objetivos, metas e indicadores para su implementación

The SEK International University of Ecuador has the Limoncocha Amazon Scientific Station (ECAL), located in the Limoncocha Biological Reserve in the Ecuadorian East; In this Station several academic and scientific research activities are carried out. Currently given the permanent influx of students and researchers to the Scientific Station, in addition to new requirements imposed by the Ministry of the Environment to the operation of the ECAL, arises as an alternative for an organized, effective, safe and respectful of the environment, the System of Health and Environment Safety Management (SGSSA) for the Limoncocha Amazon Scientific Station, based on ISO 14001: 2004 and OHSAS 18001: 2007 standards. For the elaboration of this system an initial diagnosis was made to the facilities of the Scientific Station, the security conditions it provides and the analysis of the environmental aspects that this generates; for the elaboration of the management and operative procedures, the information was collected through technical norms, laws and specialized bibliography on the subject. Finally the work exposes the functioning of the SGSSA, in addition to its policy, objectives, goals and indicators for its implementation
