Description: Currently there are many drawbacks in what has to do with failures in the starter. This is responsible for giving the first turn in the engine and with the help of the other systems, start the vehicle. There are many premature failures in the starter motor, although the majority can be caused by a defective battery that does not provide the high current demand that the starter motor needs for proper operation. The damage to the starter motor is mainly due to a lack of preventive maintenance in the programmed check-ups of the workshops. This would prevent many future failures and keep the vehicle user quiet. The vision of this work is to develop a test bench for starters that consists of testing the engine under vacuum and with load simulating the normal conditions in the vehicle. Then proceed to compare with the technical data that the manufacturer provides. In the tests to be carried out in the bank, they first consist in making it work to observe if the gear pinion comes out, turns and returns. The vacuum test is based on operating the starter motor so that it turns freely and takes the data of voltage, current and revolutions per minute. These values are then purchased with the manufacturer's. In the load tests, the starter motor must be coupled to an inertia flywheel that is mounted on the bench, this can be added little by little to analyze the behavior of the starter motor. Two of the loads subjected to the starter motor are those previously taken with a torque wrench to the vehicle to which it belongs, in order to know the resistance to rotation with the clutch engaged and uncoupled. Obtaining all the necessary data can calculate the power and by means of some generated curves, verify the real state of the starter when compared with the technical values supplied by the manufacturer
