dc.description | This article aimed to analyze the relationship between self-esteem, aggressiveness and automatic thoughts in adults. For which a methodology with a quantitative approach of correlational and descriptive scope was used, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional design, in a sample of 200 people, men and women over 18 years of age from the City of Quito. A questionnaire through Google forms with sociodemographic questions, the Coopersmith self-esteem test, the Ruiz and Lujan inventory of automatic thoughts and the Buss and Perry scale of aggressiveness were used as measurement instruments. The Kolmogórov-Smirnov normality test of [p 000.5] was applied, working with the statistical analysis of Spearman's Rho correlation, the Mann-Whitney U test was used for group difference and ANOVA for the variables and sociodemographic data. The results showed that: The higher the automatic thoughts, the higher levels of aggressiveness, men present a greater presence of self-esteem and aggressiveness in relation to women. People with a higher level of academic study have less automatic thoughts and aggressiveness. Therefore, it is essential in psychotherapy to work on ways to strengthen self-esteem, redirecting automatic thoughts, thus mitigating people's aggressiveness.
