Description: Coffee is one of the most important products worldwide and in Ecuador it is one of the most exported elements 143 for the profitability of the country, therefore it is important to know more about its morphological and molecular cha-144 racteristics. In Nanegal and in general in Ecuador the differentiation between varieties of coffee is not very present, 145 therefore when presenting certain coffee plants to the world market the value is lost because it is not possible to assure 146 that what is being produced are unique or common varieties. In the search to develop improvements in coffee it should 147 be taken into account that there are different species such as Arabica or Liberica and to know that within these there are 148 their respective varieties, that is to say that we have an underworld of possibilities. 149 In this work we seek to genotype, identify and characterize Arabica coffee varieties using five molecular markers of the 150 SSR type, capillary electrophoresis and statistical analysis to obtain information and compare the physical, sensory and 151 genetic characteristics of the coffee plants. However, it was observed that using only five SSR markers to identify varieties 152 does not provide sufficient information, so it is recommended that a greater number of molecular markers be used in 153 future research on this topic.
