Description: In recent years there has been an increase in polluting emissions in the main cities of the country, this is due to the growth that the automotive area has presented, being one of the main causes of the high percentage of harmful gases, several alternatives that help reduce the percentage of emissions in the environment where the most outstanding are the emission control measures based on standards that propose emission limits according to the year and place of origin of the vehicle. The objective is the evaluation of the emission factors in two driving cycles, European NEDC and the American FTP 75 with their respective protocols by means of an automotive dynamometer and gas analyzer for comparison with the current Ecuadorian standard. The determination of the pollutant gas factors is carried out in the emissions laboratory linked to the National Polytechnic University (CCICEV). With the results of the laboratory, the measurement of CO, HC,𝑁𝑂𝑋, and CO2, gases of each cycle was obtained, with which a graphic analysis was carried out showing that the vehicle cannot pass emissions due to exceeding the limits of 〖NO〗_(X,) established by the INEN 2204 standard, the European cycle has a greater amount of emissions emitted and a higher fuel consumption than the American cycle.
