Abstract

Abstract The research that will be carried out helps to verify the degrees of anxiety, stress and depression, in the Nursing staff (graduates and nursing assistants), in a Health establishment in the City of Quito, during the health emergency of COVID-19 (viral disease caused by the biological agent SARS COV2). The study that will be developed has a descriptive and cross-sectional study approach, using an inventory such as: DASS-21, in which information will be collected in a short time. In which it will try to show the averages of anxiety and depression in the study group, with a recommendation to implement and promote plans, programs, that help prevent and manage symptoms of depression and anxiety, using Mindfulness techniques, etc Primary Objective: To determine the levels of stress, depression, anxiety in nursing graduates and nursing assistants who work in COVID intensive care units. Specific objectives : 1) Determine the sociodemographic and labor profile of nursing staff and auxiliaries. 2) Identify and evaluate the levels of stress, anxiety and depression in healthcare personnel in the period of health emergency due to the Covid-19 coronavirus. 3) Propose control measures that contribute to the mental health of nursing staff. Method: The present investigation corresponds to a descriptive cross-sectional study in the nursing staff: Nursing graduates and assistants, from the COVID Intensive Care Unit, from a Hospital in the city of Quito. To identify and evaluate the levels of anxiety, depression , stress, DASS-21 will be applied. The questionnaire will be applied to 20 nurses and 22 nursing assistants. Results: The study carried out on 42 workers who work as graduates and nursing assistants, through the DASS 21 questionnaire, shows that mild depression has 85% and moderate D. 15%, mild stress 20% and moderate E. 80%, severe anxiety 100%. These personnel work in a sentinel Hospital against COVID 19. Bottom Line: Conduct regular employee reviews to identify new conditions or manage various mental disorders that may affect the full job performance of each employee. The rate of mental disorders is higher in women.
