Description: The suffering of acute or catastrophic diseases can transmit by public servants to the people around them a problem both in their interpersonal relationships and in their professionalism, in response many come to adapt to this crisis since fear and stress produce a great impact at work and social level, making it necessary to make use of self-regulation mechanisms that allow the staff to continue working. Thus, the objective of this research is to analyze the fear of death in public servants with catastrophic diseases working in a state institution. For this purpose, a methodology with a cross-sectional design and quantitative approach is used with a test to evaluate the fear of death that has 4 evaluation parameters: Fear of your own Death (FOD), Fear of your own Dying Process (FODP), Fear of the Death of Others (FODO) and Fear of the Dying Process of Others (FODO). Among the results of this research was that respondents had a greater fear of death and the dying process of others, rather than of their own death, although the latter is present on a daily basis in staff suffering from a catastrophic illness and has an impact on their performance.
