Diseño de un plan de gestión integral de residuos sólidos para la comunidad de Chinaló alto de la parroquia Chugchilán, cantón Sigchos, provincia de Cotopaxi en el periodo 2020-2021

Abstract

The present investigation was carried out in the indigenous community of Chinaló Alto, belonging to the Chugchilán parish of the Sigchos canton. Whose objective was to obtain information on the generation and management of urban solid waste, using statistical sampling methods according to the CEPIS methodology to determine the per capita production, density, physical composition and total generation of MSW, for which it was carried out field sampling of the homes of 24 families, the Tupac Yupangui Educational Unit and the Guasumbiní Quesera for 8 consecutive days, also applying surveys that allowed obtaining information on the current management of solid waste. The results obtained show that the total per capita production for the community is 0.33 kg / inhabitant / day, therefore, it was established that the total daily production of MSW is 186.54 kg / day, thus achieving an estimate that in a year it will be they will generate 68.05 tons / year of garbage. Through the characterization of solid waste it was possible to determine that, of the waste generated, 48% are organic, 30% sanitary waste (not usable), 6% paper and cardboard and 5% PET plastics, the same that may be used based on alternatives proposed in the urban solid waste management plan prepared for the community. In addition, with the data obtained, it was possible to carry out a diagnosis of the current management of solid waste, considering for this purpose the Regulation to the Organic Code of the Environment, the NTE INEN 2841 Standard and Ordinance No. compliance and non-compliance, regarding the aspects of generation, separation and temporary storage, sweeping and cleaning, collection, transportation and use of MSW.
