Abstract

The objective of the investigative work was to evaluate the environmental and economic feasibility for the creation of a tire utilization company in the city of Guaranda and its surroundings, using shredding as a means of recovery. The plant's mission will be to recycle end-of-life tires in the sector to obtain high quality Recycled Rubber Grain (GCR). In addition, the GCR will separate two by-products: steel and nylon, an activity that represents an environmental, social and economic contribution. The total investment required for the project is $ 542,392 US dollars, which corresponds to expenses for the establishment of the company, adaptation of the infrastructure, transportation and machinery; Through the financial analysis, it was obtained that the initial investment will be recovered in a period of five years, four months, seventeen days and that the production expenses will be fully paid by the economic income to the company, still leaving a net profit of $ 26,857 dollars per year which confirms that it is economically viable and an excellent business opportunity. Analyzing the environmental scope, the creation of the utilization plant will generate a negligible negative environmental impact, which is normal in any production process, however, the environmental benefits it represents are greater, contributing to the environment with the minimization of used tires in the city. and its surroundings and reintegrating them into production processes, closing the production cycle, (Circular Economy) generating a positive environmental impact on their surroundings; and in turn helps with the generation of new jobs, being part of a new market that contributes to the economy and sustainability of the country.
