Abstract: This article evaluates the executive functions of adolescent offenders who have committed sexual offenses and other types of crimes, who are institutionalized in centers for adolescent offenders. Its objective was to characterize the sociodemographic data through a descriptive analysis; to analyze the reliability index of Luria Clinical Observation Scale (EOCL-1) in its application to the present study; evaluate the correlation between the different subscales of the instrument; to compare the executive functions of participants who have committed sexual crimes against the other types of crimes. 34 young Ecuadorians who are interned in Centers for Adolescent Offenders between 18 and 24 years old participated (Average = 2.76) (SD = 1.32). The results show that there is a statistically significant correlation between the subscales, with the exception of error correction and monitoring of behavior and cognition (r = .271) (p = .120). This explains that the offenders in sexual crimes tend not to repeat themselves in this type of offense, however, in the case of a law breaking again it will be in other types of crimes. The results that adolescents who committed sexual crimes and other types of crimes did not present a significant difference in their executive functions are discussed (t (32) = -.19
