Abstract: | The use of renewable technologies for the electricity generation is an alternative that contributes to the energy and environmental sustainability of regions and countries. The present study had the general objective of proposing renewable technology in the generation of electricity in the Galapagos Island by means of the multi-criteria method for the selection of the best alternative. The methodology used is supported by an exploratory research supported by a documentary review to know the renewable energy potential existing in the Galapagos Islands and from there apply the multi-criteria AHP, ELECTRE and TOPSIS methods; The results obtained by the three methods indicate that the most suitable renewable technology and the one that generates the most electrical energy is Wind Technology, followed by Photovoltaic Technology and thirdly Dual Thermal Technology, showing that the islands are rich in renewable resources. which can be strengthened to avoid dependence on fossil fuel, thus avoiding ecological accidents that affect the fauna and flora of Galapagos |
