Abstract

This degree document proposes the design of a SCHOOL OF TRADES AND EXCHANGE CENTER, FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AND ADULTS, IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD OF GUÁPULO - QUITO. In order to create a connector that improves the dynamics between the population, public space and equipment, through the cultural revaluation of the sector. To choose the topic, it was analyzed, the characteristics of the neighborhood and its historical past, in which an artistic vocation and work in technical trades stand out. In addition to a careful selection of land, the typological characteristics in terms of the spatiality and functional development of the existing workshops, functional characteristics of international references, contemporary construction systems and with the same importance, the neighborhood organization dynamics are analyzed. In addition, the materiality of the direct environment is examined, to develop design strategies that integrate identifiable characteristics of the urban image of the sector. With the aim of designing equipment based on the principles of tectonic architecture, which takes into account: structural efficiency, planning based on local experience, reasoning about the area of intervention, among others, to establish an affirmed phenomenological experience. in the material and cultural origin of the area.
