Abstract: Objectives: To describe the ergonomic risks of suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome due to repetitive movements and forced postures in health personnel of the first level of care. Method: a descriptive cross-sectional study was developed, the study population was 63 workers from the general medicine, obstetrics and dentistry departments of different health centers in the city of Ambato. As a data collection instrument, a survey was applied to the participants and the Boston Carpal Tunnel Questionnaire (BCTQ) scale for data collection. For the evaluation of forced postures, the REBA method was used and for the evaluation of repetitive movements, the CHECK LIST DE OCRA method was used. Results: It can be observed that the positions evaluated by forced postures present high risk in the area of dentistry molar extraction that requires necessary action soon, in dentistry caries filling evaluation I, II and III, they present medium risk both right and left, whose action is necessary , Prass Dentistry, the risk is medium requires necessary action, Medicine investigation Clinical history the risk is medium whose action is necessary, Prass Medicine the risk is low both on the right and on the left, the required action may be necessary, Obstetrics evaluation I and II, right and left present medium risk the required action is necessary, finally in Prass Obstetrics the risk in both the right and the left is low, the required action may be necessary. Regarding the evaluation of repetitive movements, it is observed that the right upper extremity presents a high risk in molar extraction dentistry, the left presents a slight risk Conclution: In the REBA, it is observed in the area of extraction dentistry, high risk in the right hand due to the position of the hand to perform the extraction procedure, the ulnar twist of the wrist is evidenced, which is suggestive that this professional suffers from the carpal tunnel syndrome, due to the activities of the work action. In the OCRA check list for repetitive movements, there is high risk in the right upper limb which requires immediate action, slight risk in the left upper limb requiring no action
