Vivienda y equipamiento recreativo como conexión urbana

Abstract

The present degree work starts from an urban analysis, carried out in the north of Quito, in the parishes of Carcelen and Ponceano; in which a marked rupture between them is evident. To assess which factors have generated this disconnection, the edges are determined and five study areas are established; which present varied conditions in terms of land use, activities, flows, accessibility and presence of equipment. The change in the situación in each site has occurred because each area has been consolidated independently and since they are divided by natural or built borders, they function in isolation, which has generated not only a physical, but also a functional rupture. To determine the specific area of intervention, the sector with the greatest need for connection and the edges that present conditions so that they can be connection elements are established. Zone 1, 2 and 3 located in Carcelén and the Mirador neighborhood, are divided by the "Canta Gallo" bankruptcy and it will be in this sector where a system is established through which the neighborhood can gradually consolidate under a specific urban structure and can develop and connect over time. For this, an urban master plan is proposed that presents different programs based on the context and needs of each sector. The project to be developed is located in "Zone 3", in the "Mirador" neighborhood, it will have a housing and recreation program, which will function as a suture element, connecting from the street with a sports program and directing the continuity of the visuals towards the ravine, activating the flows through sports and leisure activities that take place in the public space of the project. Flexible types of housing are established that can adapt to different types of uses and users, responding to the needs and changes of society.
