Abstract

Conocoto is part of one of the rural parishes of the Metropolitan District of Quito, located in the south-eastern part of the city, with bioclima􀆟c characteris􀆟cs that oscillate between 8 and 26 degrees. It is located in an area of “thermal comfort” according to the diagram Givoni in addi􀆟on to its la􀆟tudinal 􀅇oors, in addi􀆟on to a variety of microclimates that are pleasant to both humans, 􀅇ora and fauna. Its proximity to Quito allows its inhabitants to have access to job opportunities inside and outside the parish, according to the last census carried out by the Inec, nearly 50% of the people residing in Conocoto a􀄫ected by the PEA (economically ac􀆟ve popula􀆟on) with working hours. Regular ac􀆟vi􀆟es ending their ac􀆟vi􀆟es in the a􀅌ernoon, while the other part of the popula􀆟on will dedicate themselves to studies and domes􀆟c ac􀆟vi􀆟es that will end their ac􀆟vi􀆟es at di􀄫erent 􀆟mes of the day within a regular week. It is also a tourist site on weekends since It borders natural tourist spaces just a few minutes from the Valle de los Chillos making it a favorable op􀆟on to live. These migratory factors have caused that there is no adequate planning, genera􀆟ng various con􀅇icts within the area, both at the urban and architectural levels, causing infrastructures lacking previous studies and segrega􀆟ng certain social groups.
