Distribución y abundancia de iriartea deltoidea en la Reserva Biológica Limoncocha

Abstract

A continuación se presenta un estudio que identifica dos propiedades muy importantes de la población vegetal de Iriartea deltoidea (Pambil): la distribución poblacional y la abundancia. El estudio se realizó en la Reserva Biológica Limoncocha, Provincia de Sucumbíos, durante los meses de marzo a julio de 2004. Este proyecto se basó en conteos de individuos adultos, subadultos, juveniles y plántulas del pambil distribuidos en ocho transectos ubicados en zonas con alteración humana (baja, media y alta), en zonas de tierra firme y pantano. Los datos fueron manejados con programas estadísticos especialmente análisis de agrupamiento (UPGMA) y de varianza (ANOVA). Se concluyó que Iriartea deltoidea se distribuye uniformemente en el área de estudio, sin encontrar una preferencia de hábitat entre disturbado y no disturbado con un F= 13.17 P<0.005. Se observó que las plántulas son más numerosas en las zonas no disturbadas, mientras que los adultos en zonas disturbadas. De igual manera, se encontró que los juveniles y subadultos son los estadíos menos abundantes en el área de estudio independientemente de su ubicación en relación a actividad antrópica. Debido a la falta de investigaciones en esta Reserva, este trabajo es pionero y reporta datos preliminares sobre la distribución y abundancia del pambil.

Below is a study that identifies two very important properties of the plant population of Iriartea deltoidea (Pambil): population distribution and abundance. The study was carried out in the Limoncocha Biological Reserve, Province of Sucumbíos, during the months of March to July 2004. This project was based on counts of adult, subadult, juvenile and seedlings of the pambil distributed in eight transects located in areas with alteration. human (low, medium and high), in areas of the mainland and swamp. The data were managed with statistical programs, especially cluster analysis (UPGMA) and variance analysis (ANOVA). It was concluded that Iriartea deltoidea is distributed uniformly in the study area, without finding a habitat preference between disturbed and undisturbed with an F = 13.17 P <0.005. It was observed that seedlings are more numerous in undisturbed areas, while adults in disturbed areas. Similarly, it was found that juveniles and subadults are the least abundant stages in the study area regardless of their location in relation to anthropic activity. Due to the lack of research in this Reserve, this work is pioneering and reports preliminary data on the distribution and abundance of the pambil.
