Sistema de gestión ambiental para la descontaminación del Río Monjas

Abstract

El presente estudio se orienta a la implementación de un sistema de gestión ambiental para lograr la descontaminación del río Monjas y la mejora de su entorno urbano, económico, social y ecológico. Actualmente este río posee altos niveles de contaminación, los que se deben a las constantes descargas de aguas industriales y domésticas que se vierten sobre él. El principal problema de esta actividad es que los habitantes de las poblaciones vecinas al río utilizan el agua del río para diversos usos como actividades recreativas, agrícolas, pecuarias, perjudicando la salud de los pobladores y el de los ecosistemas en general. Es por esto que es necesario crear un plan que integre las necesidades de la población con la descontaminación del río Monjas.

The present study is oriented to the implementation of an environmental management system to achieve the decontamination of the Monjas River and the improvement of its urban, economic, social and ecological environment. Currently this river has high levels of pollution, which are due to the constant discharges of industrial and domestic water that are poured on it. The main problem of this activity is that the inhabitants of the neighboring towns to the river use the water of the river for diverse uses like recreational activities, agricultural, cattle, harming the health of the settlers and the one of the ecosystems in general. That is why it is necessary to create a plan that integrates the needs of the population with the decontamination of the Monjas River.
