Equipamiento para el adulto mayor en La Tola

Abstract

La Tola is located in the center of the Metropolitan District of Quito, characteristic for being one of the sectors with the longest history, which makes it an important tourist attraction for the city. An investigation was carried out on the urban morphology of the place, which has very particular characteristics, with an irregular layout, characterized by being walled by its topography. Different urban issues were analyzed such as: population decrease, layout, mobility, use and occupation of land, height and condition of buildings and equipment. A diagnosis of existing problems and potentials in the sector was obtained, where an Urban Plan is proposed in which equipment for: social, cultural, educational, sports and residential well-being is proposed. The Equipment for the Elderly is proposed in order to obtain a social welfare equipment within the sector, focused on the population over 65 years of age, in order to integrate the neighborhood with said age group. In addition, the facility will have integration spaces and tours that help the psychological, physical and social improvement of older adults. In conclusion, the preparation of the degree project helps in the objective of the urban plan, offering solutions that help the elderly.
