| Abstract: | The Ecuadorian Government is promoting several policies in order to boost energy savings, among which the National Plan for Energy Efficiency (P.L.A.N.E.E.) stands out. The initiative fosters the development of Energy Service Companies (ESCOs) in the country. This research aims to highlight the causes and actions that should be generated so that the introduction of ESCOs can be encouraged. This multi-criteria analysis is based on the bibliographic reviews of energy-saving actions carried out in several countries. The main results highlight the importance to introduce the ESCOs market nationwide since there is currently no regulation that requires the adoption of efficiency improvements at industrial level. |
| Description: | El Gobierno de Ecuador se encuentra promoviendo diversas políticas de impulso al ahorro energético, entre las cuales destaca el Plan Nacional de Eficiencia Energética – PLANEE. Este impulsa el desarrollo de Empresas de Servicios Energéticos (ESEs). Mediante el presente análisis se resaltará las posibles causas y acciones que deben generarse para que pueda fomentarse la introducción de ESEs. Este estudio se fundamentará en la revisión bibliográfica de las acciones llevadas a cabo en diversos países a través de un análisis multicriterio. Los principales resultados resaltan la importancia de introducir el mercado de ESEs en todo el país, ya que actualmente no existe una regulación que requiera la adopción de mejoras de eficiencia a nivel industrial. |
