Description: An investigation was carried out to assess the level of chemical risk, by inhalation of solvents, which make up the paint and the diluent, in the paint color preparation area of the main building of the company Pintulac S.A., located in the northern part of Quito. An interview was conducted with the paint color preparation area workers, where data were obtained such as: the average gallon of paint, which is 20 daily and 3 gallons of thinner weekly, the area of the premises is 216 m3 and the process of said task. Each one of the solvents that make up the paints and the diluents most used in this process was identified, this identification was made with the help of the safety sheets (MSDS) of each of the products used. Once each of the solvents to which the workers are affected was identified, the evaluation methods (NTP 1,080 and NTP 937) were continued to be implemented, both for ranking and characterizing the risk of inhalation due to exposure of previously identified solvents and a basic study (NTP741), which reflected the current situation in which the work area is located and its "natural" ventilation is sufficient to avoid reaching the admitted limit value (VLA), the latter being a favorable theoretical result, since with the dimensions of the premises and the door, where the air entered, said VLAs will not be reached.
