Abstract: OBJECTIVES: To determine the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders according to sex, age and age in fish cleaners at a tuna processing company, and determine the level of ergonomic risk for to repetitive movements. MATERIALS AND METHODS: It is a descriptive and analytical cross-sectional study, with 395 workers of the tuna company. The Nordic Questionnaire was determined to musculoskeletal symptoms, the prevalence was calculated according to sex, seniority in the position and age; With the Ocra Check-list method the level of risk was evaluated. RESULTS: 87.8% of workers suffering from musculoskeletal disorders, women with 80% of symptoms occupy the first place with regard to sex, over 41 years have a high prevalence rate and the group of 2 to 4 years with respect to seniority The risk level for repetitive movement is Medium at 54% and 29% High risk. CONCLUSIONS: Fish cleaners have a high prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders in relation to activity and repetitive movements, the group with the greatest affection is the female and the age with the highest prevalence corresponding to those over 41 years, the staff with the most 5 years in the labor presentation a high index of TME. The average resulting level of risk, followed very close to a high level, which corresponds to studies and changes in the tasks that imply the performance of this job.
