Estilos de crianza en conductas violentas de personas con sentencia por delitos contra la mujer

Abstract

Introduction: violence is considered a public and social health problem that involves the main actors and even observers, from this problem the study will be focused on the aggressors; aiming to identify the predominant parenting style of violence and repetitive transgenerational patterns presented by persons deprived of liberty involved in aggressions against women who are sentenced in the Cotopaxi Social Rehabilitation Center Materials and methods: A quantitative, descriptive and field study was carried out, with 60 persons deprived of liberty of the minimum security stage of the Cotopaxi Social Rehabilitation Center with sentence for crimes against women. The data were obtained through the application of the Scale of Parental Styles and Perceived Parental Inconsistency (EPIPP) and a questionnaire of seven questions on perceived violence to measure the transgenerational component. Results: The predominant parenting style in the father, mother or caregiver is the overprotective; in relation to the transgenerational component, it was obtained that they perceived and received violence in their home or family, in addition they have executed it mainly against the couple. Regarding the type of violence in all cases, the physical and psychological percentage has been maintained to a greater extent. Conclusions: The context in which people deprived of liberty with a sentence for crimes against women grew up was surrounded by violence among its members and there is also an overprotective parenting style that hinders autonomy and personal relationships
