Estrategias de afrontamiento y redes de apoyo en mujeres víctimas de violencia

Abstract

Introduction: Violence against women according to the WHO is a global problem that, despite the efforts of governmental, legislative and private entities, cannot be eradicated; this due to the existence of macro and micro social factors that make it normalize, however there are protective elements that could contribute to women getting out of the dynamics of violence, which is why the main objective of this research is to identify What are the support networks that the women participating in the study would use as a coping strategy to get out of the circle of violence. Materials and methods: A mixed (quantitative - qualitative), exploratory and descriptive investigation has been carried out in a population of 75 women who have come out of the circle of violence and have filed a complaint against their aggressor at the Public Defender of the city of Quito. For which the couple support questionnaire and stereotypes (Ecuador) were applied. Results: the results of the research show that 62.7% of the women involved in the study would go to their mother after having experienced situations of violence; 61.3% would go to the psychologist; 42.7% would go to their sister and 42.7% would go to their best friend, in search of resources to face their problems. Conclusion: the most relevant support networks are located in the microsystem of the women who participated in the research, the same that would be established as coping strategies of the social and professional support type, which provide the study group with resources to face the problem of gender violence experienced, since in these links they would find emotional, economic, physical and patrimonial support.
