In this work tests were carried out, at the laboratory level, of the feasible treatment processes for the elimination of detergents, in order to reduce the parameters of the chemical oxygen demand COD and the biochemical demand of oxygen BOD in wastewater from the production processes of sulfuric acid and sulphonates of the industry that produces detergents for domestic and industrial use: "Jabonería Wilson SA". Through the tests carried out, the feasibility of designing a treatment plant was verified, so that the wastewater discharged to the public sewage system complies with the parameters established in the current Municipal Ordinances. The process selected is based on the elimination of detergents by cationic precipitation, using "lime" as a binder, thus obtaining a reduction of approximately 87% in the presence of detergents, by 89% COD and almost 100% the BOD.
