Vivienda colectiva en Guápulo

Abstract

All along history, Guápulo has been a traditional neighborhood, and also an important connection between Quito and the valleys. Nowadays the town hall has some features as: informal settlements in risk zones, historical and cultural memory loss, vehicular congestion, lack of living places and equipments, social segregation and diminution in population. As a solution to this social and special problematic, is proposed the implementation of housing that satisfy the needs of habitants, without compromising its integrity and considering the particular characteristics of the neighborhood as the chaotic mobility, the low density, and others. The principal strategies for the emplacement and resolution of the project is the implementation of the two kind of housing typologies that respond to morphological and functional characteristics of the immediate context.
