Diseño arquitectónico de la terminal terrestre de la Ciudad de Puyo

Abstract

The present degree work presented below focuses on one of the main problems identifi ed in Puyos’s city. The same that originates around the terrestrial terminal which generates pedestrian and vehicular mobility confl icts in its vicinity. The problem lies in the fact that the terminal that was built in 1982, in a peripheral zone at that time, exceeded its user capacity by nowadays. In addition, due to the urban growth that the city has presented since the 1990s, the area where the terminal is implanted has become part of the urban center of Puyo, which has resulted in vehicle chaos during peak hours. On the other hand, the increase in informal trade and the lack of space for the arrival of vehicles that leave passengers have caused badly to be formal traders, terminal users and residents of the sector. Not to mention that late at night the crime of the sector has grown considerably. Considering the aforementioned factors, the present work directs its study in fi nding an ideal and strategic place to accommodate a terrestrial terminal. The conception of a new terrestrial terminal that has the adequate scale to supply the current passenger demand is considered, considering the growth it has presented over the years. In addition it is an equipment that benefi ts both the people who provide the transport service and the user thereof, to the indirect users of the terminal and that contributes, in general to the city, generating a public use space for connection with the land terminal activities.
