Description: | A confined space is any place that has limited means to enter and exit. Limited means are those that do not allow safe and quick entry and exit of all its occupants and may cause an accident. These are places where it is necessary to access or transit in order to carry out different types of work more or less frequently. Each site that handles work in this type of location must consider its hazardousness by performing a classification with an analysis of its difficulty in evacuation, associated hazards and potentials. With the elaboration of the manual for work in confined spaces, the aim is to guide the workers through a correct development of the objectives so that they have the necessary knowledge of this job and everything it covers in order to guarantee their safety. To know whether a place should be considered a confined space or not, these reasonable questions should be asked. Is it totally or partially closed? Has it been built for continuous occupation? Can it have dangerous atmospheres? |
