In the automotive field, an air conditioning system is indispensable in activities of daily living, according to the passage of time the fluid most used until today is HFC 134a. But little by little the HFO 1234yf refrigerant fluid has been implemented due to its global warming potential of less than 1. This refrigerant fluid is difficult to import into the country, being a problem for a new recharge in systems with this refrigerant fluid. Next, the following research project is presented, where is the study and evaluation of the performance of the R134a system by installing a R1234yf compressor, through enthalpy calculations and thermal behavior of the cooling system, for the replacement of the R134a compressor with the R1234yf, in order to determine the efficiency of the R1234yf compressor installed in its own R134a system, with respective refrigerant and lubricant. To determinate the enthalpies of each stage of the refrigeration cycle, a test bench we will be built with all components of an automotive Air Conditioning system, where the enthalpy results of the R1234yf compressor will be compared with a compressor of the HFC 134a refrigerant itself. Having because of this project the analysis of the R1234yf compressor, where its efficiency or performance of the compressor is 75%, being a value most outstanding in the different test, when compared to the performance of the R134a compressor which is 84%. It means that the R1234yf compressor is optimal when working with the PAG 46 lubricant and HFC 134a refrigerant, without alterations in its refrigeration cycle.es
