Description: Currently, self-esteem and body image are crucial factors in the psychosocial and mental health of women. The exploratory studies on corporal dissatisfaction relate it with a low self-esteem that in turn ends in affective and emotional problems. Furthermore, the body image distortion has affected primarily the female gender which, due to commercial and aesthetic nature, is the most vulnerable. As a result, a cult of beauty has been created in which the slim body is essential. The purpose of this research is to identify the relationship between self-esteem and body image in a group of women from Cre/Ser psychological center, in the province of Pichincha, Conocoto. The research sample consisted of 10 women from 20 to 60 years old. This research was based on the description of the importance of constructs in women's lives, their relationship and effective change against positive stimuli. In addition to documentary work, psychotherapeutic workshops on self-esteem and body image were carried out.
