Abstract

Universidad Agropecuaria y Turística del Norte surge como respuesta a una problemática encontrada en la Provincia del Carchi. Mediante investigación y análisis se ha determinado un conflicto entre el contexto (medio físico, natural y social) y la oferta educativa en el nivel superior (equipamientos y carreras ofertadas). El objetivo de este trabajo es diseñar una unidad especial dedicada a la educación superior ubicada en la ciudad de San Gabriel en la provincia del Carchi. Teniendo en cuenta el lugar de implantación, la ciudad de San Gabriel que ha sido declarada patrimonio Nacional el proyecto se plantea como un campus disperso en la ciudad con la intensión de aprovechar tanto las características morfológicas así como la dinámica propia de la ciudad; las áreas que conforman el campus se agrupan en función del tipo de actividad y su injerencia sobre el contexto. Para llevar a cabo este aspecto del proyecto se hace necesario un análisis de la ciudad para determinar la ubicación de cada uno de los edificios que componen el campus y adicionalmente una propuesta en cuanto a las áreas de influencia en cada edificación. Como resultado se produce la fragmentación del campus; sus elementos están dispuestos en función de la accesibilidad y la relación con la ciudad, es decir, la vinculación de los objetos al contexto está determinada por el grado de permeabilidad y de actividad, lo cual establece el aspecto formal de cada edificación.

Through research and analysis it has been determined a conflict between the context (physical, natural and social environment) and the educational offer at the superior (equipment and careers offered). The objective of this work is to design a special unit dedicated to higher education located in the city of San Gabriel in the province of Carchi. Taking into account the place of implantation, the city of San Gabriel which has been declared National Heritage the project is proposed as a dispersed campus in the city with the intention of taking advantage of both morphological characteristics and the dynamics of the city; the areas that make up the campus are grouped according to of the type of activity and its interference on the context. To carry out this aspect of project is necessary an analysis of the city to determine the location of each one of the buildings that make up the campus and additionally a proposal regarding the areas of influence in each building. As a result, the fragmentation of the campus; its elements are arranged according to the accessibility and the relationship with the city, that is, the linking of objects to the context is determined by the degree of permeability and activity, which establishes the formal aspect of each building.
