The current Political Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador establishes a wide range of rights, guarantees and duties that cover each and every one of the Ecuadorian citizens and foreigners who live in the country. However, some of these rights have been denied to HIV / AIDS carriers, basically because of the permanent discrimination to which they are subject. Despite the fact that people living with HIV / AIDS - independent of their health status or serological status - have not ceased to be persons and, as a result, subject to rights and duties, have suffered a permanent violation of their most elementary rights. , caused by fear, ignorance and widespread ignorance of society about the disease and its forms of infection
