The final disposal of urban solid waste (MSW) is a problem that affects all human nuclei. There are several mechanisms of final disposal of RSU, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. One of the most common are landfills or landfills controlled, where the biological decomposition of matter produces effluents called leached. In the Landfill of the Inga 1 (RSQ) there is a large amount of leachate without any treatment, which represents a potential risk of soil and water contamination, besides the constant emanation of odors. The current norm in the Metropolitan District of Quito stipulates quality parameters that must be met by the effluents, prior to their discharge. The Preliminary analysis of the leachate of the cube 5 of the RSQ indicates that the parameters: COD, BOD5, Suspended solids (SSus) and settleable solids (SSed) are found above the limits maximum permissible for discharge to cause water. The present research work scale The aim of the laboratory is to reduce the pollutant load of leachates, especially parameters listed above. The physical-chemical treatment carried out was intended to reduce the SSus and SSed levels; testing the effectiveness of 4 chemical coagulants. The treatment that was carried out in anaerobic reactors, aimed to reduce the levels of COD and BOD5 of the leachate. In summary, the physicochemical treatment reached an efficiency of 55% in removal of SSus, and 33% removal of SSed. In the case of microbiological treatment anaerobic, this showed a demonstrative efficiency of removal of BOD5 of 74%. While The efficiency of COD removal, with statistical validity, is 77%. |
