Evaluación de impactos ambientales frente a una posible erupción del Volcán Tungurahua. Cantón Quero-Provincia del Tungurahua

Abstract

El presente estudio corresponde a la tesis de grado previa a optar al titulo de Ingeniería Ambiental de la Universidad Internacional SEK. El trabajo se describe como la "Evaluación de Impactos Ambientales frente a una posible erupción del Volcán Tungurahua y su afectación al Cantón Quero - Provincia de Tungurahua". Fue desarrollado metodológicamente como un modelamiento cartográfico, levantamiento de información en campo y análisis de riesgos sobre la zona de estudio. Este trabajo está sustentado en la utilización y aplicación de productos de sensores remotos (imágenes satelitarias) y sistemas de información geográfica (SIG). Como principales productos se obtuvieron la actualización de la cartografía básica y temática del cantón Quero, la identificación y evaluación de los impactos ambientales y la propuesta de medidas de prevención y mitigación.

The present study corresponds to the thesis of previous degree to opt for the title of Environmental Engineering of the University International SEK. The work is described as the "Impact Assessment Environmental in front of a possible eruption of the Volcano Tungurahua and its affectation to Cantón Quero - Province of Tungurahua. " It was developed methodologically as a modeling cartography, information gathering in the field and Risk analysis on the study area. This work is based on the use and application of remote sensing products (satellite images) and Geographic information systems (GIS). The main products were the update of the basic and thematic cartography of the Quero canton, the identification and evaluation of environmental impacts and proposal of prevention and mitigation measures.
