Abstract: En la actualidad el palmito es uno de los productos exóticos, no tradicionales, preferidos por la mayoría de países tanto Europeos como Americanos, y ha tomado mucha fuerza dentro de los mercados de los mismos, por sus características singulares y por su exquisito sabor. La presente investigación se basa en un estudio de factibilidad de un proyecto para cultivar palmito en el sector de El Carmen-Manabí, para lo cual se realizó un análisis macroeconómico tanto de la oferta como de la demanda del producto dentro de nuestro país, así como también del Sector en el cual se piensa incursionar la producción del producto en mención. En éste también consta su proceso de cultivo y las diferentes actividades a realizarse para llevar a cabo el proyecto que tiene una vida útil de 10 años. Este proyecto consiste en cultivar 40 hectáreas de palmito, deberán adquirirse 200000 plantas ya germinadas, para transplantarlas en su lugar definitivo, 5000 plantas por hectárea. Dicha producción será comprada totalmente por la Procesadora Sipia (SNOB), con la cual se firmará un contrato de compra-venta, en éste se estipulan las diferentes cláusulas, políticas y normas a las cuales deberán regirse tanto la misma procesadora como el productor. También se realizó un estudio financiero mediante el cual se determinó que la inversión total que deberá hacerse será de 123279.42 dólares, financiados un 30 % con capital social y un 70 % con un crédito a un banco. Se llegó a la conclusión que este proyecto es una buena alternativa de negocio, puesto que es viable y rentable, arrojando un Valor Actual Neto (VAN) de 28116.77, una Tasa Interna de Retorno (TIR) del 20.19 %, recuperando la inversión en el sexto año de vida útil del proyecto.
Description: Nowadays palm heart is one of the exotic, non-traditional, preferred products by most countries both European and American, and has taken a lot of strength within their markets, due to their unique characteristics and their delightful taste. The present investigation is based on a feasibility study of a project for cultivate palmito in the sector of El Carmen-Manabí, for which an analysis was carried out macroeconomic of both supply and demand of the product within our country, as well as the Sector in which it is intended to enter the production of product in mention. This also includes the process of cultivation and the different activities to be carried out to carry out the project that has a lifespan of 10 years. This project consists of cultivating 40 hectares of heart of palm, 200,000 will have to be acquired already germinated plants, to transplant them in their definitive place, 5000 plants by hectare. Said production will be purchased entirely by the Sipia processor (SNOB), with which a purchase-sale contract will be signed, this stipulates the different clauses, policies and rules to which the same processor must be governed as the producer. A financial study was also conducted through which it was determined that the investment total to be made will be 123279.42 dollars, financed 30% with capital social and 70% with a credit to a bank. It was concluded that this project is a good business alternative, since that is viable and profitable, yielding a Net Present Value (NPV) of 28116.77, a Rate Internal Return (IRR) of 20.19%, recovering the investment in the sixth year of life Useful of the project.
