Abstract: Durante los últimos años los mercados financieros han ¡do tomando gran importancia a escala mundial, como resultado del proceso de globalización de la economía. Este fenómeno ha traído consigo varios beneficios, pero a la vez, ha significado nuevos riesgos provenientes de los tipos de cambio, de las acciones políticas, y de la Interdependencia de las condiciones financieras que existen en cada país. En el Ecuador, actualmente se atraviesa por un proceso de dolarización (plan financieramente internacional), cuyo éxito no solo depende del estado y sus componentes, sino esencialmente de una integración con los mercados extranjeros que permita el Incremento del comercio Internacional desde y hacia el país. En este entorno económico, considero que es muy importante estar al tanto del desarrollo de nuevos mercados que ayuden a las empresas a hacer frente a los riesgos adicionales derivados de la realización de operaciones en el extranjero, a través de Instrumentos financieros para la cobertura de los mismos. En la presente tesis, se realizará un análisis de la utilización de los derivados financieros como instrumento para la cobertura del riesgo: qué son, cómo funcionan, cómo se valoran, y cómo se utilizan. Específicamente se verá el manejo de forwords y swaps; los mercados en los que se negocian y las formas y características que estos productos financieros pueden tomar. Se analizará con ejemplos prácticos la forma en que estos instrumentos ayudan a eliminar el riesgo financiero, y de esta manera, demostrar que los derivados financieros son instrumentos eficaces en la gestión financiera internacional.
Description: In recent years, financial markets have been taking great importance on a global scale, as a result of the process of globalization of the economy. This phenomenon has brought with it several benefits, but at the same time, it has meant new risks from exchange rates, political actions, and Interdependence of the financial conditions that exist in each country. In Ecuador, there is currently a process of dollarization (financially international plan), whose success is not only depends on the state and its components, but essentially on a integration with foreign markets that allows the increase in International trade to and from the country. In this economic environment, I consider it very important to be aware of the development of new markets that help companies to deal with the additional risks arising from the performance of operations abroad, through Financial Instruments for the coverage of them. In this thesis, an analysis of the use of the financial derivatives as an instrument for risk coverage: what they are, how they work, how they are valued, and how they are used. Specifically you will see the handling of forwords and swaps; the markets in which they are traded and the forms and characteristics that These financial products can take. The way in which these will be analyzed will be analyzed with practical examples. instruments help eliminate financial risk, and in this way, demonstrate that financial derivatives are effective instruments in the international financial management.
