The lack of information on noise pollution of the Metropolitan District of Quito (DMQ) that is currently evident, generated the need to conduct research since 2009 on the current situation of environmental noise. This research is the third campaign carried out by the SEK International University that seeks to identify the areas with the highest noise pollution and at the same time generate a management tool. Based on the results of the two previous campaigns, new monitoring stations were determined to cover the areas in which no data were obtained, for which twenty-five new monitoring stations were determined throughout the MDQ. The monitoring stations were assigned to four students of the SEK International University. For this specific end-of-career project, the seven stations assigned to the twenty-five stations were: Carcelen, El Condado, La Florida, El Aeropuerto, El Bosque, El Inca and Los Granados. In all the monitoring stations, the same noise monitoring methodology was applied. The monitoring was done in the period of one year for each station. The results obtained in the monitoring were processed, analyzed and presented as a noise map. For the presentation of the noise maps the DMQ was divided into five zones, corresponding to this investigation the northern zone 1 that includes the stations of La Florida, El Aeropuerto, El Bosque, El Inca and Los Granados. The noise monitoring data from the Carcelén and El Condado stations were granted to the researcher from the northern zone 2 for the preparation of the corresponding maps.
