La neutralidad en la red y su marco legal en Ecuador

Abstract

La neutralidad en la red, es el principio básico con el cual se creó el Internet. Este sostiene que el Internet debe ser libre, y que cada usuario debe escoger por cuenta propia, el contenido al cual desea acceder, sin que un tercero pueda bloquearlo o entorpecerlo. Según los defensores de este principio, la única manera de mantener un Internet libre, sin bloqueos, tal como lo conocemos, es legislando en bienestar de la libertad de acceso a la información y aplicaciones que este medio de comunicación masiva, ofrece a sus millones de usuarios, a fin de garantizar el derecho de los usuarios del servicio de Internet. El reto no será fácil, pero siempre y cuando el organismo cuente con un respaldo legal lo suficientemente fuerte, así como con ideas coherentes respecto a permitir el crecimiento económico y la evolución de la red, dicho proyecto, sería absolutamente viable.
