Efectos neurotóxicos en trabajadores con exposición a gases volátiles de combustibles en islas de despacho de los terminales Santo Domingo, Ambato, Riobamba de la empresa pública Petroecuador

Abstract

This research proposes to measure the association between neurotoxic effects and exposure to volatile fuel gases (toluene, xylene) in workers from dispatch islands of the Santo Domingo, Ambato, Riobamba terminals in the public company Petroecuador, in order to strengthen the system epidemiological surveillance. It will be carried out according to the orientation of the process in a cross-sectional study and descriptive and analytical analysis. It is expected to know the description of the sociodemographic characteristics (age, sex and level of education) of the population exposed to volatile fuel gases that occupy the terminal technical job and that work in the dispatch islands of the Santo Domingo terminals, Ambato, Riobamba Petroecuador public company. It is expected to identify workers with neurotoxic effects associated with the exposure of volatile fuel gases (toluene, xylene) in the Santo Domingo, Ambato, Riobamba clean product terminals of the public company Petroecuador. This research includes few workers in its sample who are found in different provinces and who do not respond clearly to the neurotoxic research tests because they fear being sanctioned or removed from work. Provides information on neurotoxic symptomatology of the context that will allow decision-making, generation of epidemiological toxic surveillance plans and benefits workers and the company because it allows the generation of prevention plans aimed at avoiding occupational diseases and timely treatment of those affected
