Niveles de ansiedad y depresión en mujeres víctimas de violencia

Abstract

Introduction: Violence is considered one of the problems of a global nature without differentiating culture, age, social class, level of education and entails multiple mental health problems. This study aimed to analyze the levels of anxiety and depression in women victims of violence who attend the “Nosotras con Equidad Foundation” of Riobamba. Materials and methods: The work is descriptive and field. In the first phase, the main variables and subcategories related to anxiety and depression in women victims of violence were investigated. Subsequently, with the variables already established, the contribution of the women who attend the “Nosotras con Equidad Foundation” of Riobamba was collected, who were evaluated through the PAI Personality Assessment Inventory, designed to assess the manifestations and observable signs with special emphasis on their different modalities (cognitive, emotional and physiological). Results: The results suggest that the level of anxiety and depression varies personality traits in women victims of violence. Conclusion: The findings showed that anxiety and depression, with their respective sub categories (cognitive, emotional and physiological), applied to women victims of violence show differences, even though receiving psychotherapeutic treatment remain at a high level of physiological or psychosomatic discomfort, what would be important to take into account this aspect for an integral treatment of that vulnerable group.
