Abstract

The present study aims to determinate the relationship between the attitudes or ways of think and the provision or patterns to act against the consumption of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs in aspiring military career enrolled in a training Schoolm for Soldiers in Ecuador Methods: In the investigation participated 1118 sujectsaged between 18 and 26, with an average age of 20, 41 years, it deals with a type of quantitative study, descriptive and correlational, where the attitudes towards alcohol and illegal drugs questionnaire and the “Self-report on psychoactive substance use were applied” Results: Finds that the awareness about the negative effects substance use is related to rejection and dislike index of tobacco, alcohol and other drug use. Statistically negative differences were found between first and second year applicants. Additionally, a relationship between attitudes and disposition towards the consumption of tobacco, alcohol and substances was identified, despite being aware of the harmful effects Conclusion: the awareness of the negative effects about consumption have a significant relationship with the attitudinal trend in applicants and behavioral disposition. The religious identification is a protective factor against substance abuse.
